So, I am doing this new thing – it’s called, “get your ass out of bed at 7am and spend 45 minutes doing something for your self other than snoozing through 5 alarms then rushing off to the office”. The first couple of days consisted of wishful attempts but today I got up and out of bed, waltzed to the kitchen in a stumbling slumber, made myself a cup of coffee and then sat down in my breakfast nook and started writing this post. It took me 2.5 minutes to get my laptop open and get through these first few sentences (baby steps) but YOU GUYS, taking a little bit of time to do something for yourself in the morning feels good and I am very into it.
I understand that I am probably the last human being on the planet to discover this little trick, but I guess better late than never. And before you get your hopes up that this means live blog content coming to you everyday from my kitchen nook at 7am you are wrong. Who do you think I am Katie Couric with the morning news?! Some days I am going to attempt to drag myself to the gym rather than put it off to the end of the day, some days I would love to make myself a big breakfast (ha who am i kidding I will take the time to walk down the street to Einstein’s and grab a french toast sandwich, which by the way – and yes I know I am blabbering on – is SO good, go get yourself one and think of me), some days I might try and get some of my own personal work done or do some cleaning… ok ok I might be getting ahead of myself. 7am time is good guys so if you have the luxury to enjoy an hour sans kids, sans obligations, and sans distraction then take advantage of it while you can and force yourself to spend a little time for you. Enough about me. Let’s get into this lovely little home I stumbled into the other day on Martha Stewart.
The home belongs to: Kelli Cain and Brian Crabtree and is located in upstate New York and it goes without saying that they did such a great job with both the renovation and the decor, and also once again reminds me that I need to move to a small town and buy a house and renovate it because real estate prices here in Los Angeles make me want to vomit.
